Nothing is more magical than the wonder in the eyes of a child at Christmas

After a great dinner we started opening gifts.
“We” – that was only Nora at first, of course, who was wonderful to watch discovering her gifts. Truly glowing eyes, I tell you.

I was quite amazed once more by my new camera and the stunning Ef 24-70 f2.8 L lens. All of the photos are taken at ISO 3200 and the image quality is superb, no matter what. I even did not bother to run noise reduction in Lightroom – it’s that good!
While I had a near 100% success in getting nicely balanced and acceptable sharp images from the start, I got a high selection of truly tack sharp photos once I had set the autofocus to AI Servo.

And so there are many nice photos of the night. I hid them behind the “Read the rest of this entry” link, because I’ve made collages which are rather large in file size and might take a bit to download.

As mentioned before, Nora came naturally first. And it was fun: everybody gathered round and watched her unwrap one gift after the other (with a little help, of course).

Isn’t this beautiful?
Oskar will get his presents tomorrow – it was already bed time for him when the show started.

Once Nora was done, the rest of the crowd got presents, too. Many more than what you would expect for a “no gift” Christmas celebration :)

At the end of the night everybody had at least gotten one little present (in fact: more than one, and often anything else but “little”).

Then the night came slowly to a closure and it was high time for Nora to go to bed.

Good night.
And again: merry Christmas.
