Lamia and I dressed up a little bit tonight and left to Pizzeria Mozza after Lamia had put the little guy down to sleep. Tonight was the first night we went out after Oskar was born. We’ve had before a lunch without him, but dinner was new. It was also a special dinner, because on Monday our civil marriage is already two years ago. It feels as if it was yesterday

Naturally this wouldn’t have been possible without Tess, our amazing nanny, babysitter, helper, … or just regular Girl Friday for want of a better word.

It was a nice evening and the company was stellar, as always. I like that the restaurant is located in the upscale Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands area, which is really nice to walk around in the evening. I did not like so much that they played 80s music in the place… there are great songs, of course, but I really do not think that “The best of Bon Jovi” needs to be played anymore in this century. Especially not at that volume.

The waiters were a little confused or confusing – it depends on your point of view: they were friendly but a little rushed and not too organized (three separate waiters asked for our order in short succession – but that’s better than having nobody looking after you, of course).
We ordered bruschette as starters (Spiedini di Mozzarella and Baccalà Mantecato), pizza as main (Salumi Piccante, mozzarella, tomato & Fresno chiles and Prosciutto di Parma, rucola, tomato & mozzarella) and still water (plastic bottle) and a 70 bucks Merlot (“Quintotema”, Sasso dei Lupi 2012). Dessert was ice cream and Tiramisu.

Overall the food was very good. The Bruschette were even excellent. The pizza was good, but is not as good as at La Forketta or Etna.

But like I said: it was a wonderful evening.
We were late getting home: Oskar’s night feed is now at 10:30 pm and we missed it by 40 minutes. But Tess took care of everything and made sure the little guy stayed on his routine. With him being in such good hands, it’s tempting to go out in the evening more often.

2 years. Really does not feel like it…
