I don’t think this parrot stands for any particular fairytale. I did not know about it, so I wonder whether it was added rather recently to, hum, “modernize” the gardens. So here’s what this does: a parrot sculpture picks up sounds it hears and replays them afterwards. This way an illusion of a bird is created, parroting everything you say.
When we were there, there was a guy who was cleaning the little pond and made lots of noise, which was all replayed by the parrot. Not cool to hear the scratching of a rake replayed in low quality through a poor speaker system. The guy was then kind enough, though, to make a break and give Oskar the chance to try this out.
I think it was pretty cheap overall, but Oskar came away rather impressed…
